Hasegawa Makoto (長谷川慎) is a Japanese performer and actor. He is a member of the groups THE RAMPAGE from EXILE TRIBE and In The BLOOD EYES.

He participated in the GLOBAL JAPAN CHALLENGE, but didn't get selected. He was announced as a member of THE RAMPAGE in April 2014.

Early Life

Hasegawa Makoto was born on July 29, 1998, in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. He has an older brother.

Hasegawa was a curious child and initially dreamed of becoming an astronaut or a ninja when he was in kindergarten. Later in elementary school, he aspired to be a hairdresser, his father's profession. He described himself as a child "that was interested in many things". "When I fell in love with something, I would spend all my time doing it."

He started dancing when he was in the fourth grade of elementary school. At first, he practiced it simply as a learning experience, but as he entered EXPG Tokyo and competed in friendly rivalry with the other students, he began to dream of becoming an artist. After becoming a scholarship student at EXPG, he began appearing in EXILE's music videos as a kid dancer.

Career

2011

In 2011, when he was in junior high school, Hasegawa joined the trainee group EXILE GENERATIONS and started activities as a support member for GENERATIONS. As a result, he was able to appear in several of the group's music videos and live performances.

2013-2014

In 2013, he participated in the GLOBAL JAPAN CHALLENGE to become part of PROJECT TARO. Ultimately, he didn't get selected but became a candidate for THE RAMPAGE. After completing the group's musha shugyo, Hasegawa was confirmed as an official member on September 12, 2014.

2017

On January 25, Hasegawa made his major debut in THE RAMPAGE with the group's first single "Lightning".

2018

In 2018, he made his acting debut in the TV drama PRINCE OF LEGEND.

2019

In 2019, he played his first role as part of the main cast in the YouTube drama Shujinkou, for which he won an audition. Although he had been taking acting lessons while attending EXPG Tokyo, it was not until he started working as a member of THE RAMPAGE that he became interested in acting in earnest: "After I joined THE RAMPAGE, I started to think about the fact that performers are mainly physical, so they can get injured, and that the day would come in 15 or 20 years when they would no longer be able to dance. That's when I decided that I wanted to use acting as a weapon other than dancing."

2020

In early 2020, Hasegawa paired up with Goto Takuma to design a pair of sneakers for a THE RAMPAGE×K·SWISS collaboration.

2021

On April 1, he was revealed as a founding member of the parody visual kei band In The BLOOD EYES as its bassist under the stage name "Lily".

2022

On August 3, 2022, his first solo photobook titled CHARACTER was released.

Later that year, he joined the HiGH&LOW franchise as "Sameoka Shoji" in the movie HiGH&LOW THE WORST X, for which he passed an internal audition within LDH JAPAN.

2023

In early 2023, he played the role of "Romeo" in the stage play Romeo & Juliet at Bunkamura Theatre Cocoon in Tokyo.

2024

In spring 2024 he will play his first starring role in the TV drama Koi wo Suru nara Nidome ga Joto, an adaptation of the BL manga of the same title.

• Started krumping when he met JUN (Twiggz) when he was a student at EXPG. After about a year, he quit, but when he became a member of THE RAMPAGE, he met JUN again and resumed krumping to make it his specialty as a dancer.
• Is titled one of the two "Princes" of the group alongside Fujiwara Itsuki. They met each other for the first time when they were in elementary school. The two are very close, often go out to eat together, share similar personalities and get along very well. According to both, they can communicate what each other is thinking even if they don't speak, like telepathy, because they think alike. Together the duo is called "Makoitsu" (まこいつ).
